News & Updates - May 2013

Hey to all the lost souls that somehow ended up here, this is just a quick shout out about website upkeep... I might decide to cancel the webhosting service since it is not in much use by anyone but me... if anyone has any objections as to why I should keep it up, well, let me know in a comment! Bye!

Edit: Looking for people interested in developing a 2D adventure game (need GFX artist). For more info, leave a reply.

For Those Still Around

So, I see there are still some things being done here, and I am glad to see that. I have just recently gotten out of the Marine Corps, and NEVER have to go back, so I will be checking this site on a daily basis, seeing if anything is going on.
I am still wanting to try and get another MineCraft server up and running to get the community back, and I still have contact with bonepinman, metalfreak, and zoological, so I believe I could get them back into warcraft III, and get Undead Assault going again.
I would love to get our small group of friends back together and get the old time jokes and such going, but I can't do it alone. I will do my best to get a minecraft server by the end of the month, and then start recruiting people. I also plan on opening up a terraria server, since it still seems pretty popular, and we could grow the community from there.
I am planning on, in the next few years, going to college and getting my Bachelors in Computer Science/Graphic Design, so I can help work more efficiently on websites and servers.
If you guys have any ideas, post them here, and if you have any contact to old members, try to get ahold of them, and let them know I am going to try and get us back together, to bring hell to the gaming world once again.
Peace and Love,
Midnighters

New PhP Integration

I am currently working on further integrating the PHP forum with the HTML website. As you can already see, the homepage is being re-worked to be a PHP self updating page. Ohh Yeah #wiredin

Well

Well its been a very, very long time since UBCS/UMO/Outbreak Gamers had started (Back in 2007 with UBCS and around 2009-ish with UMO) and I can say we all learned quite a bit. There are many true things out there, and one thing that is a given fact is that we aren't dead. The better word to say is more "hibernating". There are some real-life plans that tierdal is doing these past few months, and I've been dedicated to my Academic Decathlon team aswell as my school's AP-Team (Advanced Placement US History & English). We are all still alive and well, but we have no big plans in the foreseeable future. We could easily start a Source-based server, but there just isn't a team to manage it. We had many plans that we thought of, many of which were decent, but we couldn't get done because there just isn't enough time or effort to put into it.

Maybe one day if we manage to get some type of developer who can actually manage a server so we are able to get the cash flow, and get more servers up, but I don't see this happening for a while now. So what have you small group of active members been up to these past few months?

Outbreak Industries

There has been a small (big and rather huge) project that has been in the works for quite some time, however it is all on paper up to this point. I am now recruiting a small team of highly dedicated members to join me in making this project come to life. You have to be approved by me, and, of course, be of use. Reply here to put your name down.

Re-Vitalizing Outbreak Gamers

Greetings, it's anon here and as you may have seen, we are looking for people to manage the community, as it's very difficult for one person to manage everything. This would also explain why nothing recent has happened in Outbreak Gamers, the development team has lives too, and we would really hope to find people who are able to manage this community, while we are off dealing with some real-world issues.

Currently, we are wondering which game we should focus on, or a set of games. We are looking for games that we would be able to support: a. The Server Fees. b. Teamspeak fees. c. Website Fees. d. Other fees/taxes (if needed).

Currently, the games we can think of are:
1. Team Fortress 2 (Pure 100% Vanilla) -This would be a great way to get members to join our community, although there is no incentive for them to purchase admin's etc.

2. Garry's Mod (Trouble in Terrorist Town) -This would be a steady source of income since it's a very mod-able game, and depending on the skill of the developer, can be a great source of income.

3. Counter-Strike (Zombie-Mod) -This is a very popular mod for the game, and is fairly easy to code. The plugins itself are easy to install, however, in order to make it more appealing, custom plugins should be used in order to make it stand out from the rest.

4. Combination of the 3 -We would create a server for each of the games, which would produce a steady income, and would give Outbreak Gamers more members. All we need is developers who will work for "a price" (A price meaning that the user will be allowed to do whatever he/she needs to be done, have access to everything, and all the logs, full FTP, and many more options.

Currently, a single slot on a sever costs ~$1 USD a month, admin for a month would be around $10-$15. Which means we would need about 3 lead developers, and a total of 9 admins in order to support all the fees for the servers.

In other un-related news, it now seems that there are only three original members that I know of that are still floating around OBG (formerly UMO, and furthermore UBCS), tierdal, Midnighters, & TheSuperAnon (formerly Undead-Knight). While we had great fun together, we soon drifted apart, and got lives. Let's take a moment to remember the good old days of playing Undead-Assault with bonepinman and the boys.

It's Been A While, Summer Is Closing In!

It has been a while since my last udate, so it has been since any activity of the community whatsoever... I understand school gets on your toes and work and other activities, but if I am busy someone needs to take charge.
On the other hand, summer is getting close and I am looking for people to take charge!
Applicants must be over 16 years of age, have experience, be willing to work for free, set up servers, manage people, moderate, revive the community, and, above all, stay active.
If you think that you qualify, send me a private message regarding this subject. Note that the qualified person will get full access to forums, TeamSpeak, Servers, and E-Mails of the community. Thank You!
As for me, I will help as much as I can, however, recent events in my life prevent me from getting online often. Let's revive Outbreak Gamers to the might and power that we once had.

Also, Our YouTube channel got an upgrade to a "partner" status, so let's make some videos. I am looking for Ideas and Participants. Any ideas are welcome.

First 5 people who post an interesting Christmas story about their life HERE will get the game! The other 4 copies of the game will go to our old and very dedicated members: StuffGOA,Ninhunter, Raythar, and Ramo909. Congradulations!

News & Updates - Thursday, December 8, 2011

I Want to apologize in front of all the community for disappearing for a couple of weeks, due to unforseen family-related issues. The community is lacking active recruiters, please step up and fill in those responsible positions!
I will soon need to pay the bill for the Free-Build Server for Minecraft, which, at this moment, seems purposeless... Therefore, teamspeak server should be down until I set up a different server (couple of hours max). The world files will be made avaliable to everyone soon.
